Susan Hopgood - Acting President of Education International

AEU Federal Secretary, Susan Hopgood, has been appointed to the position of Acting President of Education International.

EI President Thulas Nexsi resigned at the recent EI Officer's meeting following his election to the South African Parliament.  At the next meeting of the full Executive Board, to be held in early December, EI Officers will recommend that the Board confirm Susan's appointment as President until the next World Congress in 2011.

AEU Federal President, Angelo Gavrielatos says, "This is a great honour for Susan and an even greater honour for the AEU."
