Workplace Bullying (Belinda Lowing) |
|
Of the women who participated in the What AEU Women Want survey this year, it is disturbing to note that over half had reported being bullied but not just by colleagues but by students and parents! Their level of concern for the issue therefore is very high and their experience of attempts to report bullying and have it dealt with have been on the whole “fairly poorly resolved” (31%) or “completely unresolved and totally unsatisfactorily” (20.7%).
Belinda Lowing will speak about the work of WorkCover's Bullying Review Implementation Project, their new intervention powers, work to prevent workplace bullying and assist employees are aware of avenues to ensure safe workplaces.
It is the aim that workshop delegates are then better be able to argue for better intervention and processes at the workplace to prevent bullying but also assist colleagues who may be experiencing bullying, let alone being able to confidently address bullying if it happens to themselves.
