Pregnancy Guidelines - HREOC

The Report of the National Pregnancy and Work Inquiry entitled Pregnant and Productive: It's a right not a privilege to work while pregnant was published in 1999. This report confirmed that pregnancy discrimination still remains a matter of concern in Australian workplaces.

The Guidelines clarify many issues surrounding pregnancy and work and the intersection of the laws which protect against discrimination. They provide case study material, information on legal precedents and current laws that cover employees.

The Pregnancy Fact Sheets provide information about the continuance of the work of the report by providing practical assistance in the area of pregnancy discrimination.
