The 2006 AEU Women's Conference was held at Conferences on Clarendon on Saturday/Sunday, 7/8 October. The theme was "Women Leading – redefining, inspiring & valuing".
The Conference aimed to look at where women are accessing leadership positions in education, how they go about leadership and the informal leadership women show by supporting their colleagues. We considered how women's individual and collegiate leadership skills are developed both in the classroom and outside and established union responses which can help address barriers women may in pursuing such leadership. The Conference also ensured that space was made to discuss maximising the opportunities young girls and women have in their educational and employment choices.
The AEU Women's Conference always hopes to provide challenging content, balanced with networking and enjoyment – even fun! Photographs show delegates excelling in all areas. Thank you to those who made the Conference a success.
