Public Education Day

My name is Jessica Tovey, I am an Australian actress and the proud recipient of a public education. I went to a public primary and high school in Sydney's Inner West. Both schools not only gave me an amazing academic education but offered programs in public speaking, debating and drama that taught me to express myself creatively and ultimately led to the success of my career.

I strongly believe that every Australian child should receive an education that allows them to find what inspires them and nurtures their individual needs regardless of their background. My two schools celebrated the rich diversity of their students and endeavoured to create compassionate, capable members of society. I am deeply grateful and proud of my education.
