Ormiston State School has received over $650 000.00 throughout the Gonski funding with a consistent allocation of just over $169 000.00 each year. The funding has been used to employ staff and provide online resources for students to use at school and home to support literacy and numeracy across the school, provide additional Guidance Officer support and Instrumental music time for social emotional wellbeing as well as establishing a diverse range of positive learning opportunities for students.
In 2017 the funds have also been used to establish a school wide specialist Science program. As well as providing students with access to high quality teaching and learning opportunities in Science, this has also allowed the school to focus on improving teacher capability and targeted learning opportunities through collaborative Curriculum Coordination time.

Gonski funding has allowed incredible flexibility to tailor staffing and school programs to suit the particular needs of the students and staff. The funding has allowed targeted intervention to support student learning, increased engagement through greater variety of programs and support and enhanced teacher capability, resulting in improved student achievement outcomes across the whole school.

Continued access to Gonski funding in the future would allow Ormiston State School to enhance and expand the range of programs already established to provide all students access to targeted programs tailored to their individual needs, abilities and interests within a positive, supportive learning environment that focuses on improvement and a commitment to provide the very best opportunities for all students and staff.
