Key outcomes include increased cultural awareness, respect for traditional custodians, and open dialogue between students of diverse backgrounds. The project integrates cultural learning into the school curriculum, enhancing students' understanding of history, social studies, and art, while promoting empathy, inclusivity, and wellbeing.
Starting in secondary schools, it has expanded to primary schools, impacting 1473 students across 27 schools in North Queensland. The project has created 116 wearable art pieces, symbolizing cultural knowledge and personal growth.
The project focuses on culture and inclusion, wellbeing, and educational achievement. It strengthens partnerships between schools, artists, and communities, fostering future learning opportunities. By incorporating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into education, the project contributes to a more inclusive, empathetic society.
