STATEMENT ON THE BONDI BEACH TERROR ATTACK

The AEU extends its deepest condolences to all those affected by yesterday’s horrific violence in Bondi. Our thoughts are with the victims, their families and loved ones, and with everyone who has been affected by this national tragedy.

We stand in solidarity with Jewish Australians, and with all communities who are grieving and feeling unsafe in the wake of this terror attack.

To our Jewish members, the Jewish community broadly, and all those affected, we join you in mourning the lives lost and reaffirm our commitment to peace and safety for all.

Teachers see, every day, the importance of compassion, inclusion and respect. In moments like this, those values matter more than ever.

We condemn all acts of violence and urge everyone to support those who are hurting, and reject hate and division.

There is no place for antisemitism, hatred or violence in our society.
